WHAT IS THE COURSE CONTENT?

The intent of these courses is to introduce/expose students to Latin American culture from the lens of consumer behavior in a travel and tourism context.

The dual courses will consist of one course which will examine social media trends necessary to make an effective social media campaign. The second course will introduce students to cultural norms, customs and how that effects decision making through a consumer’s lens.

Together the courses will equip students with the strategic and technical know-how to produce effective social media campaigns and strategic messages. The courses are designed to approach social media on three levels: messaging to the audience designed to engage activation, design and visual development to enhance and support engagement and, finally, to create a visually cohesive campaign that takes into account cultural nuances.

We will assist the students to develop their ability to translate their new experiences into a project that communicates using their personal creative voices.

Part of the courses is to expose students to a different culture, as most study abroad programs aim to do, but our courses will also expose students to how different countries communicate and sell ideas.
